Bertha Melloy

Miss Bertha Melloy, former resident of this community, died last Tuesday afternoon at the Presbyterian hospital in Chicago following a several months' illness.

Miss Melloy, born in 1885, was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Melloy of Bernard but for the past 25 years had lived in Chicago.

Survivors include three brothers - Walter, Louis and Joseph Melloy, all of Bernard; two sisters, Mrs. D. L. McDonnell and Mrs. William Dwyer, both of Bernard.

Funeral services were held from the home of her sister, Mrs. William Dwyer at Bernard, to St. Patrick's church at North Garryowen Friday morning at nine o'clock.

Rev. P. F. Malone, pastor, officiated at the requiem mass and preached the funeral sermon. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

Casket bearers were - Mose McDonnell, Mike Maloney, William McGeever, William Powers, Joseph Cannon and Mike Callahan.
