Mrs. D. Noonan

Many friends here were unhappy to learn that Mrs. Dan Noonan, well known and pioneer Garryowen resident, died at 12:15 o'clock Monday morning at her home following a brief illness. She had been ill with pneumonia.

Mrs. Noonan was an ideal mother and wife and was renowned throughout her community as a most charitable and friendly neighbor. Her noble and Christian life was exemplary of her character and her demise is deeply mourned by all who knew her. She was a devout Catholic and died fortified by the last rites of the religion which she espoused.

Mrs. Noonan was born in Garryowen, March 15, 1854, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Driscoll. Fifty-four years ago she married Dan Noonan and they lived on a farm near Garryowen ever since.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Leo and Frank, and two daughters, Mrs. Richard Lynch and Mrs. Mike Ryle, all of Bernard. Two children, Clement and Margaret, preceded her in death and nine grandchildren survive.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Patrick's church at Garryowen. The casket bearers were John Burke, Vince Driscoll, John Driscoll, Dennis Dullea, Leo Drlscoll, C. J. Dolphin, Walter Noonan and Harold Noonan.
