Patrick John O'Connell

Funeral services for Patrick John O'Connell, 75, farmer of near Garryowen, who died at Mercy hospital, Dubuque, Wedesday morning after an illness of two months will be held at St. Patrick's church, Garryowen at 9:30 Friday. The Rev. P. F. Malone will celebrate the requeim mass. The Devaney funeral home, Cascade, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. O'Connell was born at Garryowen on Jan. 16, 1869.

He is survived by three sons, Joseph O'Connell, at home, Leroy O'Connell, serving with the United States army in the Phillipines, and Gerald O'Connell, Garryowen; one daughter, Mary O'Connel, Garryowen; two grandchildren; one sister, Sister M. Mariam, of the Sisters of Mercy, Clinton, Ia; and two brothers, James and David O'Connell, both of Dubuque.

He was preceded in death by his wife who died in 1912; his parents; three sisters, and two brothers.
