Leroy O'Connell services held

Leroy J. O'Connell, 61, of Bernard, died Tuesday, October 24 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque.

Friends called at the Devaney Funeral Home in Cascade from where services were held to St. Patrick's Church in Garryowen, Friday, October 27 at 10 a.m. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. William Arquitt officiated at the Requiem Mass.

Casketbearers were Bob McKenna, Willie Merfeld, Ronald Rollinger, Francis Beauchamp, Francis Lambe, Tom Federspiel, Loras Noonan and James Kenneally.

Military honors were accorded by the Cascade Legion Post 528.

The deceased was born December 15, 1910 at Bernard, son of the late Patrick and Catherine (Noonan) O'Connell. He farmed in the Bernard area most of his life and was a member of the American Legion Post 528 Veterans of World War II, the Bernard Commercial Club and the Rosary Society.

He is survived by nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, 2 brothers and one sister.
