Doris C. Feeney, 87, of Stonehill Care Center, Dubuque, Iowa, formerly of 3085 Westmore Dr. and 738 Duggan Drive, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Stonehill Care Center.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at St. Patrick Church, Garryowen, Bernard, Iowa, with Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 6th, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road Dubuque, Iowa where a parish wake service will be at 6:30 p.m.

Doris was born on April 13, 1927, in Bernard, Iowa, the daughter of Vincent and Catherine (Flanigan) Henneberry. Doris graduated from Butler # 2 Elementary Country School, Bernard, also from St. Patrick High School, Garryowen, Bernard, Iowa, 1945, and from Mercy School of Nursing, (Loras College) Dubuque June 1948.

Doris married Paul "Pidge" Feeney on April 22, 1950, at St. Patrick Church, Garryowen. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1987.

She was employed as a nurse for many years at Mercy Hospital and Hills and Dales in Dubuque. She was currently a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Dubuque. She was a long time member of the Power of Prayer and the Community of the Living Word prayer group.

She has been a resident of Stonehill Care Center since 2007 where she participated in daily Mass, daily Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, weekly faith sharing, the Stonehill activities and a multitude of other activities there.

She was a hard working and loving Mother of ten children. Her devotion to her family extended over many generations.

She is survived by her 10 children, Terry Feeney, of St. Petersburg, FL, Dan (Lenore) Feeney, of San Antonio, TX, Yusuf (Zahrah) Feeney, of Malaysia, Jim (Kris) Feeney, of Chicago, IL, Carmel (Bill) Williams, of Anaheim, CA, Maureen (Duane) Crossett II, of Columbus Junction, IA, Pamela (James) Elsinger, of Woodstock, IL, Dennis, of Cibolo, TX, (Claire) Feeney, of San Antonio, TX, Ed Feeney, of Dubuque, and Bill Feeney, of Independence, MO. Her siblings: Maxine O'Connell, Melvin (Rose) Henneberry, Joan (Dr. James) Cahill, Richard (Arlene) Henneberry, Sister Kathleen Henneberry CHM and Joyce (Ray) Stratton. Two sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Henneberry and Anne Feeney and a brother-in-law, Bob Feeney. Twenty five grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren, 37 nieces and nephews with a special thank you to her niece Mary O'Connell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister, Luella Henneberry, her brother, John Henneberry, Paul's sister and five brothers, several in-laws, one grandchild P.J. Elsinger, in infancy, two great grandchildren, Jacob and Blaise Elsinger in infancy.

In lieu of flowers a Doris Feeney memorial fund will be established.
