BELLEVUE, Iowa - Nicholas S. "Nick" Davidsaver, 55, of 606 North Riverview, Bellevue, formerly of Dubuque, died at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Leonard Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 2595 Rockdale Road, Dubuque, where friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today. Entombment will be in St. Joseph's Mausoleum at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West.

Mr. Davidsaver worked in Dubuque, Fort Dodge, Dyersville, and Bellevue as a meat cutter. In Dubuque he worked at the former Randall's and also at Eagle Foods. During the 1980s he owned a boat sales and service business in La Crosse, Wis.

He was born on May 27, 1944, in Dubuque, son of George R. and Catherine D. (Hemenway) Davidsaver.

He attended Northeast Iowa Community College, Peosta, where he took several courses. He was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 150. He was a longtime boater and was also a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, where he served as a Floatilla officer. He was an owner and breeder of English springer spaniels.

Surviving are his wife, Jean Davidsaver, of Bellevue; a daughter, Laura (Mark) Berghuis, of Princeton, Minn.; two grandchildren, Austin and Noah; a brother, George G. (Mary) Davidsaver, of Dubuque; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Nicholas S. "Nick" Davidsaver Memorial Fund has been established.

A special thank you to the doctors of Dubuque Internal Medicine and the Wendt Regional Cancer Center for the care they gave to Nick.
