HARRY NOONAN

The funeral of Harry Noonan, 84, who died at the home of his niece, Marie Noonan, in Chicago, last Friday evening, was held from the Devaney Funeral Home in Cascade to St. Patrick’s Church in North Garryowen Tuesday morning at 9:00 o’clock. A mass of requiem was said by Father Cooney, a relative of the family.
The sermon was preached by the pastor of St. Patrick’s, Rev. Fr. Malone, who also conducted the burial services at the cemetery, assisted by Fr. Cooney.

Harry Noonan was the last of the family of Mr. and Mrs. John Noonan, pioneer residents of Garryowen. Death comes swiftly at times. Mary Noonan, a sister of the deceased’s, 97, was brought back for burial in January 1946; in May, Mrs. Hannah Noonan was brought back to her last resting place and now the final ending of the family in the death of Harry Noonan.

The only survivors are a nephew, Dr. Albert Noonan of Madison, Wisconsin, and a niece, Marie Noonan, of Chicago, who were here to attend the funeral. Father Cooney of Chicago, whose mother was a sister of J. P. Noonan of Garryowen and Nellie Jess Larson, formerly of Bernard, accompanied them.

Pallbearers were J. P. Noonan, Leo Noonan, Vince Henneberry, J. M. Noonan, Alfred Brady and Wm. Stanton.

Compliments of Joseph Cahill
