Mr. Richard Noonan of Garry Owen, died at his residence in Butler township, Jackson county, on Thursday, April 26th. He was one of the early settlers in Garry Owen and a man universally respected among his neighbors. Thus one by one the old pioneers of the country are called hence. Mr. Noonan had seen many changes in the country and its political features and issue. He saw General Jackson in 1836 and voted for Martin Van Buren for president. He also voted the first and second time to admit Iowa into the Union.

The funeral look place at St. Patrick's church and was largely attended. The Rev. J. Kelly officiated.
