Wyoming, Ia., - SPECIAL: Funeral services for Peter S. Jansen, 72, who died Wednesday morning in his home here following a two weeks illness, were held from the Harrington funeral home at 2 o'clock, Saturday afternoon, with Dr. W.P. Nicholas, pastor of the Presbyterian church, in charge.

Born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, he came to this country in 1881 and followed the occupation of farming for six years. In 1887 with his brothers, Chris and August, he bought a grocery stock and then added to it general merchandise. In 1894 he established the Citizens bank and served as its cashier until the business was sold to the Citizens State bank in 1913. He was one of the organizers of the Wyoming Telephone company and after its reorganization into the Wyoming Mutual Telephone company, he held the office of treasurer until this spring when he asked to be relieved of its duties.

He is survived by his widow, Rieka Carstensen Jansen, and one daughter, Mrs. Bertha Jensen of Onslow; one brother, August of Wyoming, and one sister, Mrs. Johanna Lorenzen of Olin.
