REV. LUEHRSMANN DIES AT LAMOTTE

Although known to be suffering from a complication of diseases for several years the many friends of Father G. H. Luehrsmann of LaMotte, will be pained to learn of his death at that place Monday evening at 11 o'clock.

Father Luehrsmann was born at New Vienna, Dubuque county, Oct. 26, 1866. When 12 years of age he moved wth his parents to Dyersville. He was ordained a priest at Montreal on December 20, 1890 and said his first mass at Dyersville on Christmas of the same year, and soon after was appointed assistant to Father Bauman at the Sacred Heart Church, where he was stationed for about six years, when he was transferred to Norway, Iowa, which pastorate he held for six years. In the last years of his life he has been rector of the LaMotte, Jackson county church.

Rev. Luehrsmann leaves to mourn him, his mother, a brother, Dr. Bernard Luehrsmann of Dyersville, and three sisters, Mrs. Henry Evers of Dyersville, Mrs. Walters of Norway and a sister at Alton, Iowa and an uncle, Rev. George Luehrsmann of Breda, Iowa.
