SABULA MAN MEETS TERRIBLE DEATH
Jacob Vicks, a life-long resident of Sabula, met sudden death about 10:30 o'clock Friday morning while engaged in his work as car repairer for the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul railway at Savanna. He was engaged in repacking a "hot box" when a locomotive and string of cars backed into the the car on which he was working, the impact throwing Mr. Vicks in such a manner that the wheels passed over him, almost completely severing the upper and lower portions of his body. An inquest was held in Savanna. The deceased was 48 years of age and had made his home at Sabula since birth. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. V. Rathje and two sons, Milton and Ray.
