OBITUARY

S. O. H. Trumbo was born in Pendleton county, West Virginia on Feb. 18, 1810 and died in Maquoketa, Iowa, at the home of his son on June 24, 1892. He came west with his family in 1856 and settled in this locality where during all the years that have intervened he has been honored and respected by all who knew him. Eliza Ann, the wife and partner of his joys and sorrows passed over the last river to the other shore but a few months before him, dying on Jan. 31 of the present year.

Mr. Trumbo was one of a family of five girls and four boys. He has one sister living at the advanced age of 91 years. Mr. M. N. Trumbo, of this city, was his only child, and from his home where the deceased gentleman had suffered the pangs of a prolonged illness, the services were held, Rev. T. S. Oadams officiating. Herbert Bader, now of Clinton, was to the Trumbos almost a son, and made his home with them from early childhood.
