LOUIS HOERSCHELMAN-

Louis Hoerschelman peacefully passed away Friday morning, August 7th at the home of his son, William Hoerschelman, of Andrew, after an illness of several months duration. He was born in Germany May 9, 1837. In 1864 he was united in marriage to Martha Faust and for five years lived on a small farm in Unterellan, Germany and in 1869 came to the United States and settled in Iowa near St. Donatus. From there they moved on a farm three miles northeast of Andrew and in 1902 they retired from the farm and made their home with their son William up to the time of their passing. In the year 1914 they had the privilege of celebrating their golden wedding anniversary in the midst of their children and relatives. His life and example throughout the years have been an inspiration and benediction. He was baptized in the Lutheran church of which he has been a faithful and consistent member. He leaves to mourn his death three children, Henry of San Mateo, Florida, Mrs. John Rohden and William Hoerschelman of Andrew. His wife having preceded him in death nine years ago. The funeral was conducted by Rev. E. A. Hanff on Sunday afternoon with interment at the Andrew cemetery.
