GREEN ISLAND

The doctors amputated Henry Hagedorn's leg last Thursday afternoon, but he didn't live long. He was feeling good on Friday until evening when the pain came on him again and he died about 3 o'clock Saturday morning from blood poisoning. Mr. Hagedorn has been living in Green Island for about 35 years. He kept a country store for 25 years; kept the post office for 20 years; has been a justice of the peace for 15 years, to the best of satisfaction to everyone. He was buried from the German Lutheran church to the German cemetery near Reeseville. There were 80 teams following to the cemetery, the largest funeral ever held in Green Island, which showed that he was liked by everybody.
