FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. GRACE BUTTERWORTH

PRESTON (Special)

Grace Belle Fowler, daughter of Wm. L. and Harriett Emily Fowler, was born May 28, 1879 at Union Center, Fairfield township, Jackson county, Iowa and passed away July 3, 1931 at the home of her sister, Mrs. F. A. Hull, with whom she had been living for some time.

Mrs. Butterworth received her education in the home school and the Normal Training School at Miles, after which she taught eight years in the schools of Jackson county. On May 20, 1908 she was married to Wilmot C. Butterworth, who preceded her in death Oct. 3, 1912.

She was the youngest of a family of eight children all of whom are living, except one brother, Sheridan, who passed away in infancy. Those surviving are Harry B. of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Wm. Sims of Maquoketa, Elizabeth P. of Andrew, Mrs. F. A. Hull of Preston, Ada A. of Maquoketa and Allen W. of Maquoketa. Grief over the loss of her husband and ill-health caused her to be an invalid for several years. She bore her suffering with patient endurance and was of a kind and patient nature, loved by all who knew her.

The funeral service was held Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the Hull home, the Rev. Geo. F. Barsalon officiating. Burial was made in the Andrew cemetery.
