Services for Joseph H. Derganz, 71, of Maquoketa, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call until 9 p.m. Friday at the Carson Funeral Home, Maquoketa, where the rosary will be said at 7 p.m.

Mr. Derganz owned and operated Derganz's Electric and Refrigeration, Maquoketa, from 1945-78.

He was born Dec. 5, 1918, at Lawler, son of Anton and Mary (Banowetz) Derganz. He died Wednesday, March 16, 1988 at home after a long illness. He married his first wife, Agatha Wies, Sept. 14, 1943 at Pine Bluff, Ark., and his second wife, Gladys Schnoor, Dec. 20, 1971 at Preston. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and a World War II Army veteran.

His first wife died Sept. 21, 1970.

Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Joan) Mensing of Lowden and Linda Derganz of Toronto; two sons, Larry and Kenneth, both of Maquoketa; three stepdaughters, Mrs. John (Carole) Swanson of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Rod (Gloria) Genant and Mrs. Ronnie (Donna) Jorgensen, both of Tempe, Ariz.; five grandchildren and six step-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond and Albert, both of Maquoketa; and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Lasack of Oxford Junction.

A memorial fund has been established.
