William Weets
Maquoketa, Iowa

William Weets, 84, died Monday after a week's illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lutheran church. Members of the IOOF lodge will conduct committal services at Mt. Hope cemetery. The body will be at the Harrison funeral home.

He was born on Oct. 7, 1863, in Germany. He came to the United States at 21. He married Mary Beck in 1893 (corrected) Until 30 years ago when he moved to Maquoketa, he was a farmer in the Andrew community.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. William Mudd of Maquoketa, Mrs. Frank Coffin of Monmouth, and Mrs. Harold Mathew of Morrison, Ill; two sons, Dewey of Monmouth and John of Davenport, Ia. and a brother, Uvo, of Maquoketa.
