DIED-
Elsner-At the home of his sister, Mary F., Eliza Street, this city, 2:15 p.m., May 12, 1900, August Elsner, aged nearly 43 years. Cause-dropsy of the heart. The deceased was born in Bridgeport, Jackson county, July 10, 1857. He was married July 18, 1881 to Miss Frances Deppe of Jackson township and for a number of years resided in the vicinity of Maquoketa. More recently they had lived on a farm near Springbrook. Failing heath forced the Mr. Elsner to take quarters in Dr. Benadom's Sanitarium, Maquoketa, but failing so rapidly he was taken to the home of his sister, Mary Elsner, Friday last, and on the day following, expired. He was an industrious, honorable man and leaves in bereavement a wife and five young children, also a brother, F. C. and sister, Mary F. Elsner, of this city. The funeral took place from their home, Springbrook, Sunday afternoon, and was largely attended.
