Preston, Iowa, Dec. 30, 1879

DIED-At the residence of her father, Jacob Hicks, Mrs. Diantha Godfrey, aged 45 years. Mrs. Godfrey was born in Schoharie county, New York. From thence she removed to Wisconsin. For many years she was afflicted with asthma, and thinking that a change of climate would be beneficial to her health, came here, last fall on a visit. She was subsequently taken with bleeding of the lungs, which resulted in her death. She leaves a son and daughter to mourn her loss. Her husband died some twenty years ago. The funeral occurred on Sunday, Rev. W. R. S. Burnette, of Delmar, officiating.
