DIED

DOLPH-Simeon U. Dolph was born in Moriah, Essex County, New York, March 29, 1829 and died at his home in Mill Rock, near Baldwin, January 31, 1889, nearly 63 years old. He came to Iowa about 35 years ago. April 18, 1857, he was married to Jane Ann Downer, who died May 8, 1858, leaving a child about two weeks old. July 27, 1858, he married Lucy C. Downer, a sister of his first wife. This wife with six children is now left to mourn their loss.

The funeral services were conducted in the Baldwin M. E. Church Feb. 2, 1889. Rev. J. R. A. Hanner preaching the sermon from II Timothy 4:7-8. The remains were laid to rest in the Pence cemetery.
