LAWRENCE DUFFY FUNERAL SERVICES MONDAY MORNING

Last rites for Lawrence R. Duffy, 76, were held at 9:00 a.m., Monday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church here. The Rev. D. F. Sweeney officiated at the mass of requiem and burial was made in Temple Hill cemetery. The Carson-Balster funeral home had charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Duffy died at 10:00 o'clock Friday morning in his home in Maquoketa after a two months illness. He was born at Temple Hill on June 7, 1873, the son of William and Ann Duffy. On May 4, 1910 he was married to Iva Clark in South Garryowen. Mrs. Duffy passed away in 1945. The couple had farmed in the Temple Hill area until moving to Maquoketa several years ago. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Regina Volk of Davenport, Mrs. Georgia Coppess, Hale, and Helen at home and 13 grandchildren. A son, Sgt. John Duffy was killed in action during World War II. Six brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.
