Ida Mae Liston was born in Athens county, Ohio on September 12, 1868. She came to Iowa with her parents in 1869. They settled in Bellevue and later came to South Fork township. In 1889 she was united in marriage to James G. Elliott of Nashville, Iowa. To this union were born five daughters: Mrs. Mamie Howell of Manitoba, Canada; Mrs. Melvin Howell of Bernard, Iowa; Mrs. Howard Gibson of Maquoketa and Gertie and Trula, at home.
Mrs. Elliott's last sickness dated back to seven weeks ago. She has suffered much pain but was patient through it all. She went to her final rest on Wednesday evening at 7:15 p.m., November 26, where there will be no more pain or suffering.
She leaves to mourn her loss besides her grief stricken husband, her aged parents, five daughters and two grandchildren. The funeral was held from the home at South Clark street, Saturday at 10 o'clock, Rev. Boomershine officiating with burial at Buckhorn cemetery.
