Died at her home in Monmouth, Iowa, February 19th, 1885, of old age, Mrs. Hannah Nickerson, aged 91 years. Mrs. Nickerson was born in Manchester, Vermont, June 22, 1794. She was married on March 2, 1816 to T. Nickerson, and went to New York State during the same year. She came to Iowa the fall of 1842, and was numbered among the early settlers in a region comparatively wild.

After a protracted illness, she passed away peacefully at Monmouth. Four children remain to mourn her loss, as well as a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at Buckhorn on Sunday, Feb. 22, the pastor, E. M. Simmonds, of the M. E. church of Monmouth, officiating on behalf of the mourning friends.

Deceased was the mother of Truman K. Nickerson, and a beloved old lady. For 65 years a devoted wife and a consistent Christian. Her husband who passed away before her, lived sufficiently long enough to celebrate their golden anniversary.
