James H. Harron, a pioneer resident of Dubuque, and a member of Hyde Clark Post, Grand Army of the Republic, died last Wednesday and the funeral took place on Friday morning at St. Patrick's church. Rev. J. J. Hanley, pastor, read a Requiem High Mass at 9:30 o'clock. The Rev. Duffy officiated at the services at the receiving vault in Linwood cemetery. Preceding the church services old comrades of the Hyde Clark Post paid a final tribute to their departed comrade and also acted as an honorary escort to the cemetery. The party included William Blades, A. E. Keen, F. F. Quade, Charles Cowan, Joseph Brandon and James Jackson. Casketbearers were William Haggerty, John J. Ramm, John Meyers, John Daly, Paul Hoffman and Joseph Hanover. Mr. Harron was an uncle of Mrs. J. J. Ramm, of Cascade. The family attended the funeral.
