Jackson Sentinel, June 23, 1921

Anna Webster Crandall was born in Jackson county, one and a half miles north of Canton, Dec. 2, 1878, and passed away at her home in Cedar Rapids, June 23, 1921, at 1:35 p. m., after a long illness which she patiently bore. Deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Webster, both of whom have preceded her in death, also two sisters and one brother. She was united in marriage to William S. Crandall of Shell Rock, Iowa, and they made their home at Cedar Rapids. The husband passed away 17 years ago and since that time she kept her home and cared for her aged mother, who was called home two years ago. She was a member of the M. E. church and was ever ready to do her part until prevented from doing so by ill health. She was also a faithful worker in the Pythian Sister Lodge, who took charge of the services at the grave. Three sisters and two brothers are left to mourn her untimely death: Mrs. Lenora Ralston, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. M. W. Rhodes, Hurstville; Mrs. Belle James and John L. Webster. Beachville, Ontario, and Siegel Webster, Scotch Grove, Iowa. Funeral services were held at the home June 25, the Rev. James officiating.
