Jackson Sentinel, Oct. 17, 1878

Hoyt—October 3d, at the residence of her
daughter, Miss Mary Hoyt, in this city, Mrs.
Anna Hoyt, aged 80 years and 2 months.
The deceased became a Christian when 25
years of age, and has since lived an exemplary
Christian life. She was kind-hearted, a warm
friend to all who needed sympathy, and a good
neighbor. For the past seven years she has
been in very feeble health and afflicted with the
palsy, which for four years has kept her confined
to the house. Last December she received a
stroke of paralysis, and since that time has been
almost speechless and helpless. During that
time the care of her has devolved almost entirely
upon the daughter with whom she lived,
and loving and faithfully has she performed, the
service. Quite a large family of sons and daughters, widely separated, mourn the loss of a tender and loving mother. The remains were taken to Bellevue where interment took place in the Presbytertian burial ground.
