Herman John Fischer, of Garry Owen died suddenly of a heart attack Saturday afternoon, June 3rd while visiting at the home of his sister, Mrs. Andrew Nefker, New Vienna. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the family home to St. Patrick's Church. Garry Owen at 10 o'clock with Fr. G. Hemesath of St. Mary's, Cascade, officiating in the absence of Father Malone who was attending a retreat. Burial was in St. Patrick's cemetery.

Mr Fischer was born August 23, 1885, at New Vienna and was married to Miss Anna Gravel, April 5. 1923, at Worthlngton, Iowa. They lived at Dyersville until about five years ago when they
moved to the Martensen farm at Bernard from where they moved to the late William Stanton farm, Garry Owen, last December which they purchased. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Helen, at home, and Mrs. Merlin (Catherine) Driscoll, Bernard, two sons, Lawrence and James, both at home; five brothers, Oscar and Joseph, Dyersville; Leonard, Earlville, Ed, Petersburg, and Henry, Strawberry Point; one sister, Mrs. Nefker. Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister. Pallbearers were George Coyle, Henry Soppe, John Hosch, Albert Peiffer, Leo Smith and William Stanton.
