The remains of J. D. Dickinson were brought from Macomb, Nebraska, where he died on Sep. 7th, to, Maquoketa. Interment was in Mt. Hope cemetery, under the charge of Jackson Lodge No. 3, I. O. O. F.

Mr. Dickinson was born in 1805 and died from the infirmities of old age. Some thirty years ago he resided on a farm east of Maquoketa. He has three children living-a widowed daughter who kept house for him in Nebraska, a son in Tipton and one in Chicago, all three of whom were present at the last sad rites.
