Funeral services for Miss Lorena Fonda, 70, were held at Bellevue, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Dye Funeral Home with the Rev. Laurence Nelson, Pastor of the Presbyterian church officiating. The body was taken to Monona for burial. Miss Fonda died late Saturday night at the Moulton hospital following a three month illness. She was a daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. James Fonda and was born Feb. 28. 1873 at Stacyville. She came to Bellevue with her family when 10 years old and she was educated in
the local schools. She then taught in the Jackson County rural schools and at Cheyenne Wells, Wyo. for 20 years. She returned to Bellevue at that time and she taught in the local school for five years prior to retiring. She was a member of the PEO Sisterhood. Surviving are one brother, Fred, of St. Paul; and two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Jaaner of Denver, Colo., and Ida of Bellevue.
