The funeral of the late Michael Ryan was held from his home in Table Mound township to Garry Owen on Thursday morning, June 5, and was largely attended by farmers from the vicinity of Table Mound and Garry Owen. A large number from Dubuque attended the funeral. Requiem mass was celebrated in St. Patrick's church, Garry Owen, by Rev. Father Burke of St. Joseph's, Dubuque, who also preached an eloquent funeral sermon relative to the life of the deceased. The interment took place in the cemetery at Garry Owen. Father Burke officiated at the grave. The pallbearers were John Fernan. Joseph Corbett, Thos. Ryan, Wm. Clark, John Fagan and Thomas Williams.
