SOUTH GARRY OWEN-
John Penney, a prominent farmer of Jackson County, died at his home in South Garry Owen on January 22. He had been ill for a week.
Mr. Penney was born in the vicinity of South Garry Owen, June 16, 1859, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Penney, early pioneers of Jackson County. He was married to Hanorah Sullivan on March 1, 1892. Mrs. Penney died several years ago.
Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. David Slattery, Otter Creek and one brother, Timothy Penney, South Garry Owen. Funeral services were held in St. Aloysius church where a requiem mass was read by Rev. A. J. Smith.
