MISS FAY TRAVER DROWNS
One of the sad tragedies of July 4th was the drowning at Clinton of Miss Fay Traver, a young lady known to many of our people, she having taught school in this neighborhood a few years ago.
She was in a launch with a party of friends on the Mississippi and fell overboard while attempting to change her seat. Her escort immediately plunged into the stream in an attempt to rescue her and was himself drowned. Both bodies were recovered soon after the accident.
