The Maquoketa Record, Maquoketa, Jackson, IA Feb. 26, 1907
"Henry [should read Hiram] Liston, a son-in-law of Moses Prindle, died at the Prindle home yesterday morning and will be buried today at two o'clock in the Buckhorn cemetery. He leaves a wife and five little children. With his wife and family, he came from near Canton a couple of months ago to assist in careing for the Prindle family some of whom were sick and have since died. The trouble with which the family seems to be affected is La Grippe which developes into pneumonia, causing death. Strenuous efforts are being made to stamp it out. Quite a number of persons have been ill there at the same time and the pneumonia seems to have become unusually virulent."

The Jackson Sentinel, Maquoketa, Jackson, IA Feb. 28, 1907
“Big Woods-
Again death has visited the fatal prairie home of Mr. Hiram Liston, son-in-law of Moses Prindle, who will be buried today. We are informed that the undertakers had the remaining portion of the family move out and the house was thoroughly disinfected and it is hoped that the fatal sickness will be checked.”
