MARY ROGERS BRADLEY-

Mary Rogers was born in New Jersey, April 12, 1852. She was married to Peter Bradley July 19, 1869. They came to Iowa in 1883, where they have since resided. This happy union was blessed with thirteen children, William, Charlie of Clinton, Maude of Dixon, Illinois, Peter, Oscar, Abraham of Clinton, Alice, John, Elizabeth, Mattie, Harry, Burton, Nellie and Daniel, who died in infancy.

The thirteen children and the bereaved husband were present at the funeral and followed the remains to their last resting place. Besides these she leaves to mourn her death, two brothers and one sister in New Jersey and two brothers in Bridgewater, Iowa. Mary was an affectionate wife and a loving mother. She was a firm believer in the Christian religion, a constant church member, always living such a life so that at any moment when her Master called, she would be ready to answer the summons. For seven years she has been a patient sufferer with consumption, always bearing her affliction with a light heart and without one word of complaint, until the angel of death called her on the morning of March 28, 1901, when without a struggle her spirit returned to her maker.

The funeral services were held at the home on North Otto Street on Sunday, March 31 , where a large number of friends assembled to pay their last earthly tribute to the departed and express their sympathy to the family. Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery, Rev. D. F. Boomershine officiating.
