CORT-

Albert Cort, an old and highly respected citizen of Zwingle, this county, died at his home Monday morning. Deceased was born in Westmoreland county, Pennsylvania, April 15, 1822, and came to Zwingle in 1854, settling on a farm near there, where he has since resided. He is survived by his wife and ten children, who are M. J. Cort of Dubuque; Mrs. Strane of St. Paul; the Misses Susan and Minnie Cort of Zwingle; Dan Cort of Otter Creek; Jacob Cort of Holdrege, Nebraska; W. E. Cort of Lewsiton, Montana; Mrs. A. F. Kearney and Mrs. John Ritter of Maquoketa and Mrs. Edward Kearney of Cascade. Mr. Cort was one of the pioneers of Washington Township. He was a prominent member of the Reformer congregation at Zwingle and was honored and respected.

The funeral took place at the Reformed church at Zwingle, Wednesday, at 11:00 A.M. and was largely attended. The services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. F. C. Bauman. Assisted by the Revs. Hutchinson of Zwingle and Boomershine of Maquoketa. All the children were present except William E. of Lewiston, Montana.
