Florabelle A. Tietjen
(February 28, 1924 - August 26, 2009)

Florabelle A. Tietjen, 85 of Bellevue, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at home, surrounded by her family.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 28 at St. John Lutheran Church; St. Donatus officiated by Pastor Shane Koepke. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Kingery~Lemke Funeral Home and again Friday at the church from 9:30 until service time.

Florabelle was born on February 28, 1924 in Bellevue, daughter of Joseph and Florence (Felderman) Morett. She married Howard F. Tietjen on July 8, 1943 in St. Donatus; he passed away on October 23, 1994.

She farmed with her husband, was a homemaker and drove school bus for 13 years for Bellevue Community Schools. Florabelle loved cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grand children and great grandchildren.

Surviving is her son, Duane (Ruth) Tietjen; two grandchildren, Troy (Wendy) Tietjen, Terry (Kathy) Tietjen; and two great grandchildren, Faith and Ricky, all of Bellevue. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and special friends, Jim and Maybell Hall and their children Rafeal and Morgan, who have been more like family through the years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Vera and Betty Ann; and a niece Carol Jean Schroeder.

The family wishes to thank the nurses at Mercy 3rd floor west, Hospice of Dubuque, and Pastor Shane Koepke for the care and compassion shown to Florabelle.
