ALICE TIES 1934-2008

Ties, Alice

BELLEVUE - Alice Ties, 73, of Bellevue, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2008, at her home, under the care of Jackson County Hospice.

Alice was born February 3rd, 1934, in rural Camanche, daughter of the late Arthur and Lillie (Gregerson) Kahler. She married Clarence Ties on July 27th, 1957, at the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Springbrook. He survives.

Alice was a homemaker. She had worked for the Preston telephone company and for ten years at St. Nicholas' Day Care in Bellevue. She was an avid Cub and Hawkeye fan.

Besides her husband, Clarence; her survivors include four children, Sandra (David) Pitts, Cheryl (Mike) Peters both of Springbrook, Marcia Ties, Maquoketa and Dennis (Debbie) Ties, St. Louis; ten grandchildren, Craig, Stephanie, Jessica Pitts, Bryan, Brandy (Scott) Dierks, Corey (Brittini) Michael Peters, Tracy Ties, Sydney, Alex Ties; three great-grandchildren, Alex, Connor, Carter Dierks; two sisters, Mildred Krogman, Carol (Glen) Houston; three sisters-in-law, Lillian Dondlinger, Esther (Sylvester) Deppe, Eunice Fier; and one brother-in-law, Lyle (Mary Ann) Ties; other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Christiansen.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, January 29th, 2008, at the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Springbrook. The Rev. Fr. Donald Plamondon presided. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Friends called Monday from 3-7 PM at the Kingery-Lemke Funeral Home, Bellevue, and again Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass at the Church in Springbrook.

The Kingery-Lemke Funeral Home and Cremation Services was in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Jackson County.

The family would like to take this opportunity to extend their sincere thanks to Jackson County Home Health and Hospice of Jackson County. Death date: Jan. 26, 2008
