Vernon "Bud" Medinger, 73, of Bellevue, passed away Monday, February 18, 2008, at his home.

Bud was born June 24th, 1934, in Bellevue, son of the late Albert and Mae (Sheckel) Medinger. He was a farmer for most of his life east of Springbrook and a jack of all trades. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Army. "Bud" was a member of the Bellevue American Legion where he loved to play cards.

Survivors include two sons, Rod (Stacy) and Russ Medinger and one daughter, Jackie (Jeremy) Frey all of Dubuque; five grandchildren; five sisters, Lillian (Ed) Trenkamp, Preston, Florence Heiar, Andrew, Arlene (Bill) Berger, Sioux City, Mila Mae Keil, Maquoketa and Maxine Sullivan, Gooselake; one brother, Vincent Medinger, Maquoketa.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, John.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 22nd, 2008 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellevue. Burial will be in the Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 PM at The Kingery~Lemke Funeral Home in Bellevue, and again on Friday from 9:30 AM until the time of procession.

The Kingery~Lemke Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Bellevue are in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorials may directed to the family.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Kingery-Lemke Funeral Home in Bellevue and again Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the procession.
