Marie Hankemeier

Marie Felderman Hankemeier, 91, of Bellevue, Ia. died Sunday morning, Nov. 14, 2010 at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Ia.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Nov. 19, at 10:30 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church, St. Donatus. Visitation for Marie will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. Thursday evening at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue and again Friday morning after 9:30 at the church.

Marie Elizabeth Wiegert was born April 22, 1919 in LaMotte, Ia., daughter of Fred and Regina (Frerich) Wiegert. She married Orville Felderman on Oct. 6, 1937, he preceded her in death in 1974, she later married Ardo Hankemeier, he passed away in 1993.

Marie was a very kind, giving and friendly person who would talk to anyone. Her faith was very important to her, she was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in St. Donatus / St. Paul Lutheran Church in LaMotte.

In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and baking. Family meant the world to her and she valued every moment with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her two sons, Ernie (Janice) Felderman, of LaMotte, and Darel (Jeanette) Felderman, of Bellevue; daughter-in-law, Yvette (Fred) McLimans, of Dubuque; three step children, Ronald Hankemeier, Linda (Randy) Duhme and David Hankemeier; nine grandchildren, Leland and Mark Felderman, Leita Marks, Heather Sieverding, Chad Felderman, Terra Strohmeyer, Kari Carter and Heath and Chris Felderman; 15 great grandchildren; ten step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; and twelve step great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands; son, Leroy Felderman; granddaughter, Regina Felderman; and eight brothers and sisters, Frieda Drahn, Albert, Viola Bormann, Fred, Helen Duesing, Lula Wohlers, Henry and Karl.

The family wishes to thank the Finley Intensive Care Unit for the great care and compassion shown to Marie.
