Ella H. Chantos
(March 26, 1924 - August 5, 2006)Ella H. Chantos, 82, of Bellevue, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2006 at The Finley Hospital in Dubuque.
Ella H. Knake was born March 26th, 1924, in Amber, Iowa, daughter of the late Louis and Molly (Oltmanns) Knake. She married Thomas J. Chantos on July 12th, 1952 in Arkansas. He preceded her in death December 26th, 1993.
Ella was a homemaker and worked as an agent for Milwaukee Railroad. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Bellevue. She enjoyed sewing and arts and crafts. Most of all she loved her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, John (Connie) Chantos of Bellevue, and Timothy (Phyllis) Chantos of DeWitt; four grandchildren, Theresa, Teri (Cabel) Pierce, Christopher and Jillian; two great grandchildren; Talyn, and Marek Pierce; five sisters, Eliza Meyer, Davenport, Meta Arrington, Bellevue, Mary (Wayne) Young, Aurora, CO., Dena Glunz, and Minnie Knake both of Eldridge; two brothers, John Henry Knake, Cedar Rapids and Albert "Bud" Knake, Bellevue; other relatives and friends.
Besides her husband Thomas J. Chantos and her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Knake.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 8th, 2006, from 4-7 pm at the Kingery Funeral Home in Bellevue. Private funeral services will be held. Pastor Paul Gammelin will officiate. Burial will in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
