BELLEVUE, Iowa - Viola M. Kilburg, 94, of Bellevue, died Friday evening, June 13, 2003, at the Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue, with the Rev. Stephen Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Kingery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Bellevue.

She was born on Sept. 8, 1908, in Springbrook, daughter of John and Cecelia (Klostermann) Rubel. She married Benjamin N. Kilburg on Feb. 21, 1939, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Springbrook.

She taught school in Jackson County and worked at Loras College in the food service department. She had been a certified nurses assistant for many years, working in private homes and at Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and its rosary society, and served as a volunteer, doing a variety of work at the church.

Surviving are four sons, Paul (Candace) Kilburg, of Cedar Rapids, Tom (Kathleen) Kilburg, of Epworth, Dean (Linda) Kilburg, of Geneva, Ill., and John (Sumiko) Rubel, of Fairbanks, Ala.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eleanor (Walter) Kilburg, of Bellevue.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Kilburg; four brothers, John, Bill, Roland and Edward Rubel; and a sister, Emma Walz.
