MRS. MARIE WHITFIELD IS CALLED BY DEATH SATURDAY

At the Anna Becker hospital, Saturday evening occurred the death of Mrs. Marie Whitfield who had been making her home at that place for several weeks, death being caused by heart trouble. Deceased was born in Germany February 10, 1858, and in her native land was united in marriage to Israel Whitfield in 1885, they coming to America in 1886, locating in Milwaukee. After the death of her husband thirteen years ago, Mrs. Whitfield moved to Dubuque, residing there a number of years. In June last she came to Maquoketa and made her home with the W. H. Harrison’s, later going to the Becker hospital to undergo treatment for her affliction. The funeral was held this afternoon from the W. H. Harrison home, Rev. H. C. Bossier officiating. Interment was made in Mt. Hope cemetery.
