Hilda M. Jepsen, 87, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died on Thursday morning, July 15, 2010, at her home in Maquoketa, Iowa.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10 A.M., Tuesday, July 20, 2010, from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Monday, July 19, 2010 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa.

Hilda Marie Tracy was born on November 1, 1922 in Clinton County, Iowa, to Oscar Allen Tracy and Sophia Effie (Green) Tracy. She went to Clinton County country schools through the 8th grade and then attended Maquoketa High School. She married Gerald D. Dague on November 25, 1940 in Clinton, Iowa. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1965. She married Glen J. Jepsen on December 13, 1972 in Webster City, South Dakota. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2001.

Hilda was employed all of her life at various jobs. She had also farmed with her husband, Gerald, until his death.

Hilda was a member of the Eagles Club in Maquoketa. She enjoyed buying businesses, restoring them and building them up. She also enjoyed needlework, volunteering, gardening and canning. She loved traveling and had traveled to every state in the U.S. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. When she started out an adventure with the grandchildren the destination was always Timbuktu. She especially loved the company of her beloved Boston terrier, Charlie.

Hilda is survived by a son, Dale Dague of Baldwin, IA; step-children, Deborah (Ron) Melohn of Reinbeck, IA, Michelle (John) Rodriguez of Austin, TX, and Gregory (Lisa) Jepsen of Blanchardville, WI; a sister, Marcella Grimm of Laurie, MO; a daughter-in-law, Judy Dague of Monmouth, IA; a son-in-law, Kermit Bodenhofer of Baldwin, IA; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and her little dog, Charlie. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gerald, and her husband, Glen, a daughter, Geraldine Bodenhofer, a son, Tommy Dague, sisters, Ruth and Darlene, a brother, Robert, 2 grandsons and 1 great-grandson.
