Last Rites Held For Victim of Air Crash

June 28, 1951Funeral services for Pfc. Dale Denlinger, Jr., 23, who was killed in a plane crash in Stringtown, Okla., were held on June 16, at 11 o’clock at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rev. E. W. Loosbrock officiated at the requiem Mass. The local V.F.W. and American Legion had charge of the services at the Sacred Heart cemetery.
Dale Denlinger, Jr., was born January 30, 1928 in Clinton, son of Dale and Frances Stumper Denlinger. He was a graduate of the Maquoketa high school and had been active in 4-H and farm bureau. He was engaged in farming with his father until entering the service Dec. 4th.
Surviving are his parents, a brother, Byrl at home; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Stumper of Dicoson, S. Dak., and parental grandmother, Mrs. Nancy Denlinger of Dubuque.
Out of town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Watson, of Mott, N. D.; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stumper, Mrs. Jack Daly all of Dickenson, N. D.; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Boettcher of Evanston, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. David Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Lesch, Mr. and Mrs. P. Lesch, Mr. and Mrs. John Lesch, all of Milwaukee, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Bouilard and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bouilard, all of Potosi, Wis.; Mrs. Mary Espe of Alta, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Roepke and Mrs. Vera Elsner, all of Washta, Ia.; Mrs. Gladys Baer and family, Mrs. Helen Rutford, all of Cedar Rapids; and many from Dubuque, Grand Mound, Calamus; and vicinities.
