Beane Martensen

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 20, at 1:30 p.m. at the W.G. Carson and Son Funeral Home in Maquoketa, for Mrs. Beane K. Martensen, 80, Hampton, Iowa. Burial was in Union Cemetery. Mrs. Martensen died Friday morning at Franklin General Hospital at Hampton. Mrs. Martensen formerly lived in the Elwood and Delmar area.

Beane Beck was born Feb. 19, 1886 in Denmark to Mr. and Mrs. Beck. She was married at Elwood to Jess Martensen, who preceded her in death in 1955. The couple farmed near Elwood until 1942 when they moved to Delmar. In 1948 they moved to Hampton.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. V. R. Wagner of Hampton; one sister, Mrs. Marie Holyk of Rothsay, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.
