ANNA E. SOMMERS

Mrs. Anna E. Sommers, 81, a lifelong resident of the Andrew community, died last Wednesday evening in a Maquoketa nursing home. Funeral was held Friday at 2 p.m. in Salem Lutheran Church at Andrew. The Rev. Max Diemer officiated and interment was in the Andrew Cemetery. The Carson funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sommers was born January 22, 1876, at Andrew, a daughter of the late John and Anna Johnson Sommers. She is survived by two sons, Clarence of Miles and Al of Belleflower, California; a daughter Mrs. Lillian Fritchel of Stillwater, Minnesota; four brothers, Fred G. and William Cornelius of Maquoketa, Charles of Andrew, and Henry of Saskatchewan, Canada; and five grandchildren. In addition to her parents, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
