Jacob Reistroffer

Preston, Sept. 7-Jacob Reistroffer, 73, died August 30 at the Jackson County Public Hospital in Maquoketa, where he had been a patient for several weeks. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in St. John’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. W. A. Bischoff, pastor, officiated and burial was made at the Preston Cemetery.

Jacob Reistroffer was born January 7, 1880, near Springbrook, to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Reistroffer. On October 30, 1898, he was married to Lena Yaddof. For many years they farmed in the Spragueville community and on a homestead south of Preston. For the past 15 years they resided in Preston. He is survived by his widow, two sons, Edward of Spragueville and Walter of Preston; one daughter, Mrs. Lyle Miller, also of Preston; and ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
