A Good Woman Is Called

Mrs. Celestia Parkinson Passes Away Monday, September 30th, at 10:30 o’clock. Funeral Will Be Held Thursday

Mrs. Celestia Parkinson, a resident of Maquoketa for many years, succumbed yesterday morning, September 30th at 10:30 o’clock of an attack of heart trouble, at her home on Maple Street. Mrs. Parkinson, whose maiden name was Celestia Battles, was born in Jackson County on December 1, 1856, and was almost 62 years of age at the time of her death.

On February 24, 1875, she was united in marriage to Albert Parkinson, who survives. Mrs. Parkinson was a woman of quiet, unassuming naure and her greatest happiness was her home and family. Although she had been in frail health for many months her death came as a shock to her immediate family and friends. She was a mother of seven children, four of whom preceded her to the great beyond. Those surviving are John Parkinson, and Mrs. John Mylhousen of Maquoketa and Clark Parkinson of Glenwood, Iowa. Mrs. Parkinson had been a member of the Godard M. E. Church for many years and was a fauithful attendant, when ever her health permitted. Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at two o’clock from the M. E. Church. Rev. J. J. Kidder will have charge of the service.
