William McAndrew-
A telegram was received here on Wednesday announcing the death of William McAndrew at Camp Pike, Arkansas, Wednesday, October 1, following a short illness of Spanish influenza and pneumonia. A brother Jerome McAndrew left Wednesday for his bedside, but he had passed away before he reached there. The remains will be shipped to Toronto and funeral arrangements will be made upon the arrival of the body.
William McAndrew was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. William McAndrew and grew to manhood in this vicinity. This is the second time Death has visited this family during the past six months, the mother having died in May. He was called to his country’s service in July and placed in training at Camp Pike, where he was overtaken by the dread disease Spanish influenza, pneumonia developing later and causing his death. He was 21 years of age and leaves to mourn his untimely death his father, William McAndrew, two sisters and three brothers, besides a number of other relatives and friends who are numbered by the breadth of his acquaintance.
