Maquoketa Excelsior-Record, Dec. 1, 1911

DIED-
Howard Charles Siegel, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Siegel, wasborn near Fulton, Iowa, August 4, 1909, and died at his home west of Iron Hills, Nov. 22nd, 1911. His untimely death was due to an accident, being with his father in the corn field, he fell from the wagon on which he was riding, his head striking on the hard frozen ground, killing him instantly.
Howard was a very attractive child and was a favorite with all who knew him. The little one leaves to mourn their loss, a father, mother, brother, a small sister and many friends. But he has escaped a world of trouble and of care. One more little bud plucked from this earthly garden to adorn Heaven, and we bow submissively to the Will of God.
The funeral services were held at Esgate, Friday November 24th, 1911, conducted by Rev. H. A. Dairyrymple of the First Methodist Church. Interment in the Esgate Cemetery.
